Violation of Egregious Policy
Running ads for a book about internet spam is fraught with risk
The awkward part of writing a book about internet spam is that sometimes your advertisements get marked as internet spam. Or, as the Microsoft Advertising network puts it, a “Violation of Egregious Policy.”
Framed acknowledges the ridiculous things people do when their accounts get banned and they find out how terrible customer support can be. Even with a business account and a credit card in hand, I’m finding out how terrible customer support can be.
I was instabanned or restricted by several platforms:

Microsoft Ads Network
Pinterest accepted my appeal, but my ad there still isn’t running. I doubt I’ll ever be able to correct these misunderstandings by talking a human.
On the bright side, I’m running ads on several other platforms. The only issue with those other platforms being that I’m not converting many presales.
Today, I’m announcing that I’m giving away Framed for free. Anyone who wants to read a sampling of three chapters just needs to subscribe to my mailing list. If you have a friend or family member who spends too much time on social media, maybe it’s time for an intervention by Tim O’Hearn.
The full book will be published in two weeks! Order your copy before I get banned elsewhere.
